Scripture – Deuteronomy 23:14
For the Lord your God walks about in the middle of your camp to deliver you and defeat your enemies for you. Therefore your camp should be holy, so that he does not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.
God was very physically and of course spiritually present in the camp of Israel. Not only was He present in the Tabernacle but He also walked around the camp among His people. God is holy, therefore His people should be holy. Not only the people, but the camp where they live, work, and play.
As believers, God not only walk among us in our lives, He lives in us. He sees what we see, hears what we hear, knows what we think, and He deserves holiness in our lives, in our camp. The little things do matter, but we need not obsess about them. Our desire for holiness should not be from law, but from love.
Lord, show me what I need to shovel under in my life so that you don’t step in anything gross. My whole life should be holy ground and you should be free to walk in all of it. Help me do be so.
