Scripture – Psalm 16:7-8
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
God has counsel and instruction for us day and night. The Lord is always in front of, or between the author and the world. Not only does the Lord come first, it’s as though He is a filter through which the author engages the world and the world has access to him. The right hand has the symbol of strength. Since that’s where the Lord is the author has confidence and won’t be shaken.
God has stuff for us. Counsel, instruction, and He can communicate it to us in a variety of ways. Along with this it is important to keep the Lord first in your life, in front of everything, filtering everything that comes in and goes out of you. We need to also keep Him as our primary source of strength when the attacks come that challenge us, even challenge what He has given to us in counsel and instruction.
God you are working and I’m thankful it. I never want to stop asking you to work and I never want to stop having a reason to thank you for working. Keep speaking, keep counseling, keep instructing. I need to hear your voice and I’m thankful that I do. Thanks you, Lord.
