“For whatever reason I’ve gotten good at noticing, or drawing attention to lies, wrongs, and faults as opposed to truths, rights, and facts.”
This is a huge distinction. One I believe more of us should examine in our own hearts. I used to join in “standing for righteousness” discussions with a couple gals, at least that was the phrase we used for why we were bashing someone/something. The lies, wrongs and faults were still lies, wrongs and faults, but I was finally deeply convicted and realized that my response was negating any correction that might occur. Grace and humility, may I grow in it daily!

MaryAnne – good call! Confrontation doesn’t usually bring correction. It’s like holiness. It isn’t only a matter of being set apart from the world, it’s also about being set apart from the world to the Lord, who then sends us back into the world. It’s so easy to equate being set apart from the world with being righteous, but it gets to feeling empty and kinda bitter because you aren’t being used of God who is patiently off to the side saying, “I’m ready when you are.”
